{47}: reflecting on another week

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week in 2013.”

On the RangeNovember 19 – 25, 2013

{On the Range} is my weekly series where I discuss what we’re doing, reading, and eating. It’s a little bit 52 project and other photo projects, and a little bit {Did you Read?} and {In the Ranger Kitchen}

This is a double duty post to give you our weekly update and check on on Day 14 of pre-holiday boot camp. How was your second week, Mom?

J/k, but y’all know she’s my biggest fan.

I’ll be honest, I enjoyed the doing part more than the blogging part. But you probably figured that. And the rest of you who don’t care about holiday minimalism are all going OH GOD ENOUGH ALREADY, so you’re in luck! We can in fact talk about other things. Like tomorrow, when I’ll dish on some hella good shopping escapades.

My week…

  • I spent the week excited for the upcoming holiday week. Nate is taking as much time off work as he can, so it’ll be nice to spend some time with him.
  • I’m doing my best to do the New Englander thing, so we went skating with Charlie for the first time last weekend! We stole borrowed a crate they typically reserve just for lessons, which was absolutely the only way I could have taught her, given that her legs were prone to splay out, which knocked me off balance. The other parents effortlessly glide backward while holding their kids’ hands, but that ain’t happenin’ with this chick (p.s. however, ladies with bowed legs do make good skating instructors). Here are some videos of our outing:

  • I was wondering what Jean-Claude was up to. Heh, splits, just like I thought.
  • I somehow stumbled upon a cookbook, which made me stumble upon this review of said cookbook. Whether or not the review is on point, and I can’t comment because I haven’t seen the actual book yet, I’m glad to know there are people out there like this woman.
