spinning workout {8}: electro synthpop

The sport of biking took a bit hit last week with Lance Armstrong's pseudo-confession. My favorite analysis of said confession took place over the weekend on NPR. Well said. I figured this week was a good time to put some positive biking vibes out there, so I'm adding another installment of my spinning workouts. I'll also give my friend Elizabeth a shout-out via a link to a cool article about her biking advocacy. She does great work for the League of American Bicyclists, and you just can't help but love the thought of biking to work after reading that article.

It was an easy decision which music to pick for this spinning playlist. The Yeah Yeah Yeah's are finally coming out with a new album next spring, then there's also the release of Metric's deluxe version of Synthetica, and Muse's release of a new album (it's ridiculous! but also fun!), so I've been listening to this genre a bunch. I'm not sure what the technical name is for this music, but I'm calling it "electro synthpop." Or somethin' like that. Here's where you can hear the list on Spotify. There are a few songs on here from Drive; I loved the movie, but I don't mind subtlety and gore, so I recommend it only if you are of the same taste in films. Otherwise, you can stick with the soundtrack, which is also excellent.

In case this is the first time you're seeing a spinning workout on the blog, here's where you can find the {spinning workout series}. As I've said before, these playlists are great for more than just spinning--use them when running or just jamming while scrubbing the kitchen floor. Again, here's where you can listen to the electro synthpop list on Spotify. Now get out there and move!
