Something Constructive

I thought that although probably no one reads this, I am going to update you on what Nate and I are up to instead of just posting pointless rants. Nate got a job in Washington, DC! He is going to work for the NGA (the what? It's okay...no one knows what it is), the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. He'll be a Geospatial Analyst, which is a person who uses satellites to survey land (called remote sensing). If you want a more detailed explanation than that, you'll have to ask him directly.
What am I going to do there? I got a part time research assistant position with a public health grant at George Washington University called the Center for Health and Health Care in Schools. It starts August 15th. I figure it's a great way to get my foot in the door in the public health arena, since I want my MPH, while also being on the campus where I want to get my Ph.D. in Clinical Psych. I will get paid, although that's a side point since it's practically not even enough to be worth mentioning. I am so excited about the move and getting settled in our new home.
Right now, Nate is living in Madison finishing up his 2nd masters in Environmental Monitoring while I'm living in Roswell with my mom and working at camp. I feel a bit as if I've been taken back into a former life...no Nate, living with mom, working at camp. It's like the Twilight Zone, but in a good way (Am I making any sense?). The kitties are living with me and perpetually messing up the house that mom is trying to keep in "for-sale" shape. Woo hoo!
Oh, and I mentioned moving into a home before, but we still have no idea where or what it will be. It will most likely be an apartment. After visiting our friend Corinne, I'd love to live in Arlington, but I don't know if we'll find a place we can afford. Whatever we do, it'll be a great adventure.
